West Berkshire Comedy Festival presents

7:0pm – Inappropriate – Michael Shafar

After sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and around the UK, Australian comedian Michael Shafar is making his debut in Newbury. Since his recent move to the UK, Michael has quickly become one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit, performing at the biggest clubs around the country. In this hilariously dark and boundary-pushing show, Michael will weigh into the topics that most comedians are smart enough to avoid.
“A wildly inventive, darkly comic imagination'” – ★★★★★ The Edinburgh Reporter
“Shafar circumnavigates the line between edgy and offensive with beautiful finesse” – ★★★★½ The Age
“He’s a brand of comedian that is getting rarer and rarer to come by these days, and if you’re among those who fear comedy has gotten too politically correct, this show will put those fears to rest.” ★★★★ TimeOut

9pm – Bedtime stories for children over 18 – Graeme Coulam

ACE Space regular, Graeme Coulam, retells stories involving some of your favourite characters, from Mr Benn to Paddington, from Biggles to Heidi, from Wind in the Willows to the Telly Tubbies, from The Very Angry Caterpillar to Fifty Shades of Something. Despite the title, there is nothing crude or offensive, but these bed-time stories are definitely not for children.
“Slick, quick & intelligent” – (Fringe review)
“Amongst the very best on offer” – The Scotsman
